SMART Board Revolution

A Revolution in Education

Hi everyone!  It seems like I recently saw somewhere someone had figured a way to automatically advance Notebook slides using version 10.6 in a similar way you time PowerPoint slides to advance.  Ironically enough, I did a Notebook training today and one of the participants asked if it could be done.  Now I don't remember where I saw how to do that.  I would assume it would have soemthing to do with the page recorder and linking to another page???  Anyone have the magical idea?

Thanks for your help!

Colleen,

I have been playing with this for awhile. I have yet to find a clear-cut and simple way to automatically advance the pages in Notebook.

Are you looking at using it for a presentation? Or for teaching a lesson and keeping the Notebook pages interactive?

Hey Colleen,
The updated timer in the Gallery allows you to set the preferences to Next Page. Search for timer in the Gallery and select the large round timer. Move it to your notebook file and select the >> located on the left of the timer. The top drop down menu has several options of First Page, Last Page, Next Page, Previous Page etc. if you select next page and then set the time to 15 seconds the page will stay on for 15 seconds and then automatically to the next page. You could even hid the time by placing a object over top of the timer. I hope that is what you have seen. I do not know of a way to do it with the SMART Response system itself. Maybe others could help.
Thanks, Harvey! I should have known you'd have the answer. Now, my next question - is it possible for the file to repeat itself over and over again? I have the timer on the last page going to back to page one, but the timer on page one isn't "refreshing" itself. So the entire file only plays through once, takes you back to the first page, but ends there. Is that correct or should the timer restart itself and consistently play through until the teacher stops it?
Hey Colleen,
I could not get the timer to reset itself. I do not have a solution for this problem ... yet ... but will continue to work on it. That would be a good request to SMART. A way to make a lesson be a continuos loop of the pages... Good luck. Great "talking" to you.
