Senteo and Best Practices

Have you been using Senteo in the classroom? What are some ways to use Senteo efectively and take it to the next level in assessing your students? What are some ways others are using it?

Hi Lindsay,
I haven't used the Senteo system in the classroom, but I did get to see a very good presentation at NCTM Salt Lake City (April) at the Smart Technologies booth.
Certainly seemed that this would be good for test prep reviews or quick homework quizzes and would certainly conserve class time. I did leave the presentation feeling that I would like to have the system and create other ways to use it.

I intersperse questions in a lesson presentation. There are a couple of slides about how to do something (add fractions for example) and then a few questions to assess their understanding. From there I can either go back and reteach that section and try the questions again, or go on to the next section. A few slides later there will be a few more questions to assess understanding again.

This lets students, and me, see if they are getting it at intervals along the road. That way we don't get to the end of the road and discover we are in the wrong town!

I also use it for multiple choice quizzes. They are graded and I can review it to see who missed what. It's a great tool for that.
