Every time I put my SMART Board serial # in, they said it was not the right format. I had to put the 30 day trial for version 10 on my computer instead of the real one. I have 30 days to figure it out!
Any ideas?

Ditto-- very frustrating. Let's hope we get lucky within the next 30 days!

The serial number is on the bottom of the tray. It starts with SB. we had the same problem registering them because we were using the wrong number and getting the same response as you.

And I'm pretty sure you can get one key and use it on several copies.

I received an email from the SMART folks- seems as though they were experiencing some difficulty with the activation server, which they have fixed-- I re-activated it tonight and had no trouble-- so it looks like I'm golden to go!!!! I have been "playing" with someof the new features tonight and it's GREAT! Love some of the new interactive games/activities.

It was the Serial # on my own SB. I was given a different # and it worked. (My SB was older) Anyway. I'm up and running now!

Not the bottom of the tray, the bottom of the board. Sorry.
I've already used the same activation number with three copies.

If our building has a Smart Board in our Computer Lab (which it does), can every teacher in the building use that serial code number to download Notebook 10 onto their home machines so that they can create lessons at home?

Thoughts?

Trying today for the 10 Version....My trouble is that it says I still have Notebook and Smart Board Software on my computer that I think have taken into the trash and got rid of it. Where could there be files hiding at to remove? I have lessons I have created for Notebook, does it want me to trash those?

Help!

No. On the Mac, there are two folders in the Applications folder. One is called Smartboard software, the other I think is notebook softare. Those are the ones you probably dragged to the trash. Inside each of those is an uninstall application. Run each of those and then install 10. You don't have to get rid of old Notebook files. You can also keep the gallery. On the 10 install, uncheck the install gallery (I don't think there's anything new anyway) and your gallery remains untouched.
