The Mac version is out. I have it running on my MacBook pro. Just did it today. Pretty cool.

On my PC, it uninstalled the old version for me. On the Mac, it didn't, and even though I've trashed the old (and emptied), it still says I have Notebook Software on my computer and won't begin the install. Anyone have any ideas?

Josh, I replied to wlingle's post about this earlier today. Look there for more detailed instructions. Basically, you have to use the uninstall application in the two folders in the applications folder. They may have been in the ones you put in the trash. Since you emptied trash, you may have to reinstall the old version, then use the uninstall, then install 10.

Let me know if this works.

And is this a program you have to pay for each licence now?

from what I understand is that you need a valid Smart product to get a license key - so a Smart Board, Airliner etc.

Once you have the licence key - you can use that on more than one install - so you could use it on your classroom computer and home machine.

if you don't enter a licence key you have 30 days to get one.

You don't have to pay for a licence - but the days of everyone just getting their hands on the software easily have gone I guess. If you want students to access notebook files at home they can always install Notebook viewer

I, too, am encountering difficulty downloading Version 10- very frustrating.
I will be excited once I get it up and running!! Looks like there are some really cool and convenient features.

Hey,
Mine is now up and running, however there was a drama with the install. Right near the end of the install it seems to pause. One thing is that it tries to download Essentials for Educators (i think) and if you are installing after uninstalling v9 then it asks a question about printers. The problem here is that the question pops up behind the install window. If you look in the task bar you should see it there.

The licensing is the same as v9, you can install it on as many computers as you like except for those connected to competitors pointing devices. You need an activation key which is available through an online form as long as you have a Smartboard serial code.

It is great! once it is intalled!
Keep the sharing!

I have upgraded several of our MAC computer to Notebook 10 with no problem. However, I did have problem with one and discovered the solution. Maybe this will help those who can't install it. Delete the Notebook app in the Macintosh HD-library-receipts folder and then you should be able to install notebook 10.

Here are my basic directions for upgrading Smartboard Notebook for MACS:
1. Go to mactinosh HD-Applications-Notebook and run the uninstaller. If the computer has Notebook v. 9.5, it won't have this step.
2. Go to macintosh HD-APplications-Smartboard Software folder and run the uninstaller.
3. GO to macintosh HD-Applications-Smart Product Update and run the uninstaller.
4. Download and install Notebook software 10 drivers from http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-US/Support/Downloads/SBS/Mac/NBSv10...
5. Restart the computer
6. Download and install Notebook software 10.
7. Download and install the updated Toolkit 1.0 which has all the "cool" flash objects like the multiple-choice test, matching, hot spots at http://education.smarttech.com/ste/en-US/Ed+Resource/Software+Resou...
8. Restart the computer and you are ready to go.
