Absolutely! It's very annoying ... I don't want it to assume I want to continue to create text boxes!

This is definitely one of the changes I am frustrated by!!
I don't use that symbol, but I do use macrons in typing Latin sentences, and do so by switching the language setting (in my case, to Maori). It's working with 10.6 in the same way it did before the upgrade.

Hope this helps!

When using the infinite cloner the new object made from the cloner comes in a very large box with the object at the corner. This causes it to interact strangely with other objects and it often jumps across the page when I drop it. Also, Drag and drop page to page using the duel page display, the object will not land where I attempt to place it - i have to then go to the new page, find it, and place it in the correct spot. Anyone seen a fix for these problems yet?
I saw this the other day. For what ever reason, once you pull a clone off your stack, touch off it and touch it again. This makes the big white box go away and it won't jump on you. No the ideal situation, just what we found to get around it.

I have also been very frustrated by the clones dropping in unexpected places. Earlier versions used to drop excatly where placed. However I think I may have found a way around the problem. If you create an object which is made up of more than object (i.e. by using the group tool) and then make it an infinite cloner it appears to behave itself. So if you have an object you want to make an infinite cloner, clone it once and place the two objects on top of each other and then group them. Then set the grouped object as an infinite clone. It will then land excatly where dopped.

I find mine freezes and crashes on me at least once a day. I am using it on a Mac OS X 10.5, and it just does not seem very stable. I get the spinning wheel of death, and then it disappears. Now I know why Smart make the software so good at recovering your files!
One of the problems I have run into is that the Ink Aware does not change into text nor an image. I called SMART and they were not aware so we had a Bridgit session so they could see first hand. It seems to be when you use a link or use a document within the attachment tab.
Has anyone had trouble with the smartboard pen being delayed after the upgrade?
Yes, Especially with Scanned documents.
Am I suppose to have this bubble thing come up when I touch the board? Using Windows 7 and just upgraded and and error message comes up about the equation toolbar. Also it keeps asking me to "buy the license"? and when I enter my activation code it doesn't register - is there a way to clean off the upgrade and go back one version?
When you downloaded the latest Notebook 10.6, the default choice is checked to also download a trial version of Notebook Math. That is why you are getting that message asking about activation/buying.
